2021/2022 EWAP Call for Expressions of Interest is now open!

EWAP is delighted to announce that the 2021/2022 Call for Expressions of Interest is now open!

Interested in recording endangered wooden architecture? If you have experience in wooden building heritage, undertaken architectural and/or ethnographic surveys or are an experienced practitioner in wooden architecture, we want to hear from you!

EWAP will support projects that focus on documenting wooden architecture that is endangered because of neglect, conflict or environmental circumstances. The programme will also support the documentation of bamboo, palm, reed or grass traditions if a strong case for their at-risk status can be made. These grants are not for conservation or restoration work.

We have two types of grants available;

* Small grants, awarded for up to 1 year and with a maximum budget of £25,000,

* Large grants, awarded for up to 2 years and with a maximum budget of £150,000

Projects are expected to produce a digital record of the wooden architecture under study, which will be deposited and curated in the open access EWAP repository at Oxford Brookes University, at https://openheritage3d.org/, and within the host institution or other suitable repository to be agreed when a grant is awarded.
